After years of dreaming, Jessica is finally getting married, but the marriage isn't exactly what she thought.

Daniel is her best friend, and she's known him all her life, but he's never gotten over losing his wife two years ago. His dream is to become the pastor of the church in their hometown, but the small-town congregation keeps balking over calling an unmarried minister. Since Daniel needs a wife and Jessica wants a husband and family, she proposes an arrangement that benefits both of them.

They can get married. They can be build a life together. They can celebrate Christmas as a couple. It's fine that he doesn't love her. And it's fine that she's not exactly suited to be a small-town pastor's wife. And it's fine that she's more attracted to her sexy, brooding husband every day.

Jessica can be practical about this marriage. She knows what she's getting into, after all...

(This book includes fully-developed sex scenes between a husband and wife.)

Jessica has known Daniel most of her life. When his wife died two years ago the two of them started to become closer and are now best friends. Daniel is a preacher and has been interviewing for his dream position as the head pastor of their childhood church. There is only one problem. There are members of the church that are worried about having a single man as their lead pastor.

Jessica craves love and family. Her only family member, her mom, is suffering from Alzheimer and is slowly being lost to Jessica. She proposes to Daniel that they marry. It is the answer to both their problems. He will no longer be a single man and she will get the connection to family that she craves.

With some hesitation Daniel agrees to this marriage. It is not a marriage of convince as they both plan to consummate it. Rather it is an unconventional marriage.

This is a very sweet story of two people who think they know what they want but quickly learn that God has much more in store for them. I liked the authors very realistic look at this pastor as a real person, who struggles just like the rest of us. There was a nice balance between the religious and the realistic. I really enjoyed the book

The following information is provided so that the reader can decide if this is the type of book for them. It is not meant as judgement rather as a guide for readers to decide if this is their type of book.

Language: Mild swear words and only a couple of occasions. Used in a way to make the characters real.

Sex: There are several descriptive sex scenes. They are M/F in a married relationship. Though they are descriptive the language used is not graphic.

Story/Sex: The first sex scene takes place at 24% of book. There are probably 4 or 5 scenes in the book. I would classify the book as a story with sex scenes that support the story, rather then the other way around.

Religion: I don't usually comment on this category but will for this book. Since one of the main characters is a pastor there is of course reference to God and religion. It is handled in the context of who they are, it is a part of their life. The book does not quote a ton of scripture, nor does it really preach at the reader. Religion is used more in the context of just who the characters are.

Married for Christmas Willow Park Book 1 edition by Noelle Adams Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Married for Christmas is an interesting matchup... Can friends marry without love? And once they are married, can they love each other?

Jessica wanted a family, but she didn't quite know how to love, after leaving a bad relationship and family in her distant past. Her only friend was Daniel, a pastor. Daniel lost his wife two years ago and had never gotten over it. Daniel wanted to be the pastor of the local congregation, but the town balked at a single pastor. So Jessica offered a solution... She wanted a family, he needed a wife. Why don't they get married, despite being best friends? She thought she knew exactly what she's getting into... but she's found she really didn't know anything when it comes to being a pastor's wife... but can she learn? And will he love her?

It's sweet, it's different worlds, AND it's a marriage of convenience, but they definitely plan to consummate the marriage... and they will, but is it merely affection, or is it love? And that's the fun part... They're doing marriage in reverse... Marry first, love later. But it can work... Maybe?
This was a sweet tale that was friends to lovers and marriage of convenience. I liked all the characters, and I think the conflict arose naturally out of the situations. It felt authentic that Daniel would need so much time to get his head on straight. There is a fair amount of religion in the book, but he's a pastor, so that's not really surprising. Both of the characters are very Christian, but not in a judgmental way. The book is never preachy, and it never implies that there is a right way to be or live. I'm not a Christian and I didn't feel like I had to be to enjoy the story. Recommended for a good read that's more about emotional fulfillment than external conflict.
Well, this ended up being a surprise in many directions and never seen this plot coming. This ended up being a sweet endearing read!
Jessica and Daniel had grown up together and had been good life long friends. They shared everything with one another about their doubts, triumphs, disappoints and life's goals. Daniel wanted to follow in is father's and grandfather's footstep of being the hometown pastor. Jessica wanted to leave town for bigger things in the tech world. When Daniel went off to pastoral school and landed a church in their nearby town, he had fell in love and married Lila. During that time Jessica , Daniel and Lila remained friends, but naturally a little more distance between them and Jessica's job out of town left for less time.

Daniel was stuck in time. Lila had been in a car accident and didn't survive. Not able to move on. Daniel needed to be assigned a new church, but, elders were concerned he wasn't married. They were concerned that he was attractive and single, which could lead to problems.
Jessica had moved back in the area and she and Daniel were spending time together. During that 2 years after Lila dying, they had their friendship back to the way it had been. Jessica was stressed because of her Mom's illness which needed round the clock care and Daniel wanted his new church assignment.

That begins the journey of the 2 agreeing to an arranged marriage to help one another. After all, they were already friends...right??...no problem!....right??
Going through this journey with them, some might say, unconventional and other scoff if they knew it was for convenience, was eye opening, heart wrenching, joyful and well worth the read. I laughed, I cried and my heart rejoiced. Never judge a book by it's cover. Thank you Ms. Adams.
